She smiled at Beverly. "Aight. I can make coffee or tea while ya work magic. Or I'll be still as old water." Unsaid but clear to see was how nervous she was about the drone. It was clear that she was going to be one of those types.
Those who had vowed something. The look was there, smiling as Iolaise might have been.

"Not sure if that's good or bad if I'm honest with ya," Iolaise said, watching the drone. "I'll live with it it. Can I help in some way?"

Iolaise joined her hands and tried not to peek too much. "So will... he remember?" she asked, both hopeful and worried.

Iolaise smiled ruefully. She hadn't meant to scuttle Bev's mood like that. Something else worried her more. How would this turn out? She almost reached out a hand until she heard the reassuring whispers to the drone and realized—
Someone cared enough. She took in the view, wracking her brain, silently terrified. She just sat there, wrapped up in her woollen coat and watched, barely s

The answers regarding that patient were truthful, if dodging.
There had been a great big battle on some pissant rock. That was what she started with.
When Iolaise looked at the craft, she had many questions. And answers; knowing how her drone was being held and how the ship was kept going reminded her of something. Not least, how the drone was no longer what it was like when it had come ou

Io narrowed her eyes in thought; and another one. She shook the hand. "I'll come with, Beverly. I'm not letting that out of my sight. Vow."

By now, Iolaise had taken stock of the taller woman. She'd made her judgments; the way the woman carried herself, the way she spoke. And she couldn't help but smile. "Happen to be a transient with some taste myself," she said. "Long as there ain't a shootout, and." She looked at the drone so carefully held. And nodded.
Looked up.
Nodded. "Name's

Iolaise, no stranger to people following, took her time turning around. She was still mostly in the mindset of cradling the poor dear in the towel. She took her time judging—not for long. "Cute bug?" She looked up at the stranger and handed over the still sometimes meekly twitching drone. "Not a lot who'd call 'em that." Her tone was both warm and sad.

Iolaise pressed through the hanging bead curtain into the shop. The shop smelled like just the right kind of things; hydraulic fluid, that... other fluid she wasn't sure about. Oil, maybe. Gun and other kinds. And the walls were full of exotic (dead) drones and firearms. On this level of this city, she wasn't surprised to see the lighting be gaudy and blinding to the point where it was

"Ye-es," Sammeh said, having considered the benefits of fresh fruit. It had left him with a strange gleam in his eye. Something young. "Something that you can eat while you walk. Thinking fruit."

The half-elf responded to the exasperated sigh with a shrug of his own. Switched languages. "Very well, charming," he said, after watching her a moment longer. Then he looked at the water, and over it. Finally, he resorted to base tactics. "And maybe a taste other than cook's cooking." Sammeh still maintained a carefully respectful tone whenever he spoke of the cook, but

"And if you don't try to talk to her at all, you've already lost her nonetheless. Seems like worse odds to me." He was silent for a while, then pinched himself.

"I'd expect a catharsis of sorts," Sammeh finally responded in the same language, instead of trying to wrangle the meaning out in the new cant he was getting into. He anchored himself as firmly as he could to facilitate Sylvie leaning against him, and considered the view and presence together. "If she's still alive, and I hope she is. The second part I'll have to see

The half-elf nodded and looked toward the island again. "I don't have fresh fruit, but I'm betting there will be some over there." He paused for a moment, thinking about the decking under his feet. "Lots or a few scenarios?"

Just like much of the time during the three months, pushing too hard didn't feel like the right thing to do. But as things came to a head and they weren't stuck in the middle of the ocean, Sammeh decided it was time to give her a nudge. He settled neatly into Sylvie's personal space, touching a piece of clothing near her elbow, nearly tugging, and looked first at the island proper.

The little things would do. Touch there, a conversation there. A kind of optimism had seemed to settle with Sammeh, who took the ship as a sort of natural place to sit and observe things. The rigging. The knots. The knots, especially. The design of the sails; ship etiquette and habits. It lasted only so long until he began to field questions not only to Sylvie but the sailors too.

Where to now? We could let them sit around on higher ground and make their plans, maybe spot lights somewhere far in the distance indicating some kind of civilization. Or we could move on directly to walking into a town, summarizing the above.
Or we drop them on some poor unsuspecting suppor

Her hand turned out wet. Strange, that, he wondered. Being highly emotional like that. Eventually, he took a long warbling breath. "Eventually. But, mm." He paused, finally putting his arms around her and smelling her scent.
The word came out weakly but hopefully.
"...home?"

He was on the verge of tears of abandonment when Sylvie came to him. Then they turned into tears of wonder, because for once someone cared enough to --
...say that?
Sebastian sucked in the tears. It ran from his nose soon, but he was still utterly wordless.
The goddesses, on the other hand, when he looked at them both tilted their heads, then shrugged.
Well. That is

This got twin stares. Twice. First at Sebastian (reproachfully) and then at Sylvie (quite blankly).
We don't necessarily decide. We know. Or, Land pointed at Luck, she knows the way things may end.
The butterfly grinned.
"Fine," Sebastian said at length, solemn and sorrowful. "For my part, I'm ready for anything as

The butterfly turned in the air -- and so did Fortuna's face turn at Sylvie, smiling mischievously. You will be living with him and the other way around. That is one of the repercussions. And as for your child, children, however it shall be... well. She looked at Land. Their lives, I agreed with my sister here, are for you to decide; whether they will work for

The goddesses were still for a while. Sebastian had goosebumps and was strangely worried. He supposed it was Sylvie's lack of experience with religion, but she was driving a hard bargain. For the love of -- well, the Ladies! Sylvie was bargaining with creatures out of time, space and of mostly concepts.
He wouldn't have had the guts.
And the reaction said creatures had made hi

The butterfly made a spiral in the air, much to Sebastian's chagrin. The sound he heard -- and what Sylvie heard -- it make was one of laughter. He clenched his fist and looked worried when the butterfly spoke on. So you will do it? Really, you will? Gorgeous! said the butterly/toga-wearing woman, who was dancing like crazy.
The orchid sighed and immediately grabbed
